Medvedev disappointed by the crowds at the AO

It would be better for him if he were more stoic but that doesn't fit the pattern nowadays where fist pumps and emotional outbursts are probably part of the seminar they get from their PR managers to gain notoriety. They can't all be Borg, but I think it would help if they'd try to channel him. As for the crowds, I've been in NY for the day crowds that are reasonably well behaved, but it seems that the night crowds are less contained. I imagine that the partisanship of the AO crowds have the added perception that Medvedev sides with Novak and that would offend their sense of servility to the mandates.

Med needs to channel Novak for dealing with hostile crowds if he can't go with the Borg approach. As for bad crowds, I think screaming when a player serves should get you banned from the stadium.

Novak's Coach Speaks Out

Media drives the narrative in everything, usually for their own purposes.

Novak Djokovic was treated unfairly in his bid for a 10th Australian Open win in my opinion. He met the conditions for entry into Australia by getting an exemption from Covid shots due to a recent infection and was also granted a visa. The court originally found in his favor but a political decision to send him home was based on the #VaxCult mania currently ongoing in #Australia#AustraliaHasFallen

Here is the opinion of his coach regarding this sad affair that has damaged the credibility of the Australian Open.

Novak's Thoughtcrime that got him Deported From Australia - (anti-vax sentiment)

Do not even be perceived as going against the state say the Judges.  So it was only politics that caused Djokovic to be deported rather than allow him to play.

Thoughtcrime

Meanwhile, other players that actually tested positive are allowed to continue play.  This is a farce.

Rublev tests positive for C-19 and he is allowed into the country to quarantine.

Rules, we have no rules here.

Did Novak Djokovic receive special treatment from Australia?

Yes, he did.  He was been especially singled out for mistreatment to make him an example of resistance to the actions of the Australian Government against those not in compliance.

Frustration on the court - Is Novak any worse than others - I say not.

Why is there so much judgement against Novak Djokovic when it comes to his behavior on the court?

I've seen many players display it in other ways including Federer and even Laver who I thought never did that.

Recently, I found an old video on Youtube of a match between Borg and Laver in the '70s that I had never seen. Laver was frustrated that his best wasn't working against Borg and he was getting passed at the net and hitting winners that turned out not to be winners. I could see his frustration mounting. The tell-tale sign of his mounting frustration he started to try drop shots from the baseline, never a good plan especially against someone like Borg. After losing a game and maybe the set, he fired a ball off of his racket up into the stands. I was surprised because I had never seen Laver act out. Frustration and stress can get to anyone.

Hating on Novak: Australian National Sport

Blame Yourselves for allowing your government to do this to you.

Tweets from Jimmy Connors on the AO

I saw that Jimmy called it the Austrian in his Twitter post.  It's not a big deal and you can't edit and correct your mistakes in tweets. You either delete it and start over or run with it. Most people know it's a typo or didn't notice it.   Jimbo wasn't famous for his writing skills or his manners in speaking, but he speaks from the heart.

All that said, it's a good thing this isn't the Austrian Open because they're at least a nutty as the Australian government at this point.
