Why is Federer Trailing in the Wimbledon Final?

Watching the match you have to give a great deal of credit to Novak for the continuous pressure he is applying to Roger  on the return of serve while also playing very offensive tennis.

A thing I noticed about the Federer game as the transition to the larger frame racket changes his manner of play is how it has taken away from his forehand.  He seems to be launching those forehands when he goes for it and therefore tends to temper his attack from that side.  His motion appears slightly reduced when hitting the forehand that he used to wind up and attack.  This is understandable when you consider the gain in power that has shown up in his backhand and serve.  There are always tradeoffs.

On his backhand I notice he is having trouble keep the down the line shots in especially when he slices.
